Soh Young In
Professor, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST)
Dr. Soh Young In is a Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department and Graduate School of Green Growth and Sustainability at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Her research focuses on climate-related financial risk, sustainability disclosure, and the mobilization of capital for the net-zero transition. At ADIA Lab, her work focuses on climate risk modeling in infrastructure assets and financial markets, informing how sovereign wealth funds, institutional investors, and regulators assess and integrate climate-related financial risks.
She served as Lead Researcher of the Sustainable Finance Initiative at Stanford University's Doerr School of Sustainability and as a Senior Researcher at the Stanford Research Initiative on Long-Term Investing, following roles in global finance at Korea Development Bank (KDB), the Green Climate Fund (GCF), and Boston Consulting Group. She advises the Korean government through the Presidential Commission on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and serves internationally as an adviser to the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Her research has been recognized with a research award from the United Nations Environment Programme Financial Initiative (UNEP FI) and the Clean Energy Education and Empowerment (C3E) Award from the U.S. Department of Energy. She is a founding member of the Global Center for Sustainable Digital Finance. Dr. In holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from Stanford University and a B.A. in Economics and Statistics from Columbia University.
