From Theory to Practice: Applied AI in Shenzhen
The ADIA Lab Summer School in Shenzhen is an immersive program for students who want to explore how AI is transforming the digital economy. Delivered in collaboration with Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS), the program combines academic insight with real‑world industry perspectives across areas such as healthcare, smart cities, robotics, climate and energy, finance, and responsible AI. Program Overview
Academic Foundations: Faculty-led lectures introduce the fundamental scientific principles behind modern AI, with a focus on core methods, models, economic transformation, and responsible AI frameworks.
Industry Perspectives: Industry-led sessions show how these foundations are translated into real-world systems, products, and large-scale decision-making, offering practical insight into applied AI in action.
Student Group Work: Students collaborate in small groups through case studies and guided discussions, connecting theory with practice while reflecting on technical, economic, and societal implications.

Program Cost: EUR 300 / USD 350 / CNY 2500
Requirements: open to master’s students, PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers and young professionals with a strong background in AI, machine learning, or related fields.
Application Deadline: Friday, May 15. We will review applications as they come in and inform accepted participants as soon as possible to allow time for travel arrangements.
What's Included:
Lectures, workshops, and collaborative projects.

What's Not Included:
Participants are responsible for travel, accommodation, and personal expenses.
For accommodation, a student residence option is available through Tsinghua University. You can book this option or arrange your own.
