The 2026 ADIA Lab Structural Break Challenge
- Open Benchmark

ADIA Lab, in collaboration with Crunch Lab, has launched the Structural Break Open Benchmark, extending the original Structural Break Challenge into a long-term, continuously evaluated public benchmark.

The Open Benchmark preserves the original scientific question, data structure, and evaluation approach, while introducing key enhancements, including originality checks, fixed reference models from the original top ten teams, and quarterly out-of-sample evaluation. Rather than resetting the problem, the goal is to track progress under comparable conditions over time.

The benchmark is now open, with the first official scoring on March 31, 2026. A total prize pool of USD 6,000 per quarter will be awarded to the top three teams.

Participants are asked to develop models that detect whether a structural break has occurred at a known breakpoint in a univariate time series - an important problem across real-world domains.
